Louvre House

Louvre House was built in the 1980’s and was a typical developer house on a large private estate in Oxshott. The house was rather style-less externally, and uninteresting internally. This project started life as a small garage extension and ended up as a full-house remodelling and refurbishment, with large extensions to the front, side and rear.

With some drastic internal reconfiguration, we removed the floor of an existing bedroom and created a grand double height space by the entrance. Further remodelling created new en-suite bathrooms and a large master suite. A new Master en-suite bathroom was constructed as a first floor extension providing a covered seating area under.

The powder coated metal louvres in front of the large feature windows combined with the new external finishes, give this house a modern look and give the impression that the whole house is a new build. We also designed a Mies van der Rohe inspired garden pavilion which with its raised platform overlooks the secluded and beautifully laid out gardens.
