The Ursuline School is a voluntary aided secondary school serving the Catholic community as well as other denominations. St Angela’s Arts Block building was originally built in the 1950’s and needed updating and refitting across its three storeys. We reconfigured and extended this arts building, and designed and repositioned the entrance and lobby area to a more prominent position.
The school was one of the first schools to create a new purpose-built building to provide the new T Level curriculum. Our design for the new ‘Technology Block’ was done in two phases. The first phase involved the construction of a single level building with three teaching rooms but with the possibility to extend. With the course being so successful, a year later the second phase occurred, and our designs came to reality with the first-floor extension. The final design internally and externally makes use of brightly coloured features to inspire the students.
